It's hot out...

Well, it's official...it's summer...we got the pool out yesterday afternoon!!! The boys' patience was running thin waiting on it to get here!!!! You would have thought that we have a huge, beautiful in ground pool with diving board and slide by their excitement...nope, just a tiny plastic one from Walmart!! AAhhh, the little things!!

(see Hayden's stinkin' ear plugs he has to wear now every time he's even near water...they're a pain to keep in...but on the other hand, I'm glad he can hear now that he has tubes!)

boy #2 down...

Well, Case is now sick with the same thing Hayden had or has...Case wanted his big brother to take care of him this morning!! Isn't that sweet...cherish those seconds when they're not fighting or punching each other...they're few and far between around here...

Keep your fingers crossed and pray that all four of us don't get sick at once... :(

Busy Busy...

Well...get ready for a lot of info and a lot of pictures...

This right here is a picture of the boys' gator...high centered...don't ask me how or why this happened...it just did...with them, anything is possible...needless to say, they had to sit in time out for a while after daddy witnessed this ride...

Friday was Hayden's last day of school. They got to play with water balls outside...Hayden likes to pick out his own clothes and for some reason this day he picked out jeans and hiking boots...hot!!! I had tears in my eyes the whole time I was watching them play and especially when I picked him up and stood in the doorway of his classroom for the last time...I get really sentimental during stuff like this...

Granny spent the weekend with us and we camped out in our back yard in the tent...it was a lot of fun and perfect weather too...we slept on the ground with out any fluffy mattresses...we won't be doing this again unless we have them!!! The boys did great and we lasted the whole night (jim and case went in about 3:45am) .

Jim built an awesome fire for us and it lasted all night...we made S'mores and Jim even made a fast trip down to the pond to catch a bullfrog...frog legs anyone? Yummy!!

But before we camped out, Granny gave us a ride in her "new" pick up...which I like to refer to as the "rod"!! The boys got to drive it on some country roads and loved it...I did too...I wouldn't mind having an old truck...I couldn't resist peeling out and throwing
gravel
a few times.

Saturday we got up and went to Katy Days in town...we rode the train, went to the petting zoo and walked around for a bit...it was great...
(sorry the pictures are all in crazy order...) Notice the HUGE container of Texas Teaser Fries and tea...that cost $10.00 total...yikes!!! Oh, but they were oh so good!!

The next picture is mom holding her truck key in Walmart on Sunday afternoon...long story short, her key broke off
in the
ignition
for some
reason!!
We took it in so they could make a new one, but it had to be in one piece and for the life of me, we couldn't get any of the stinkin' glue to work and harden up!!
We had a lot of laughs and tried not to think about my grandma having to drive mom's spare keys over to her on Monday morning so she could get home...2 hours away!!! :)

Thennnnnnn.....to top off the day...Hayden had been feeling awful since Saturday late afternoon...he basically slept all day Sunday and ate nothing...having a fever for most of the day too...and then getting a rash on most of his little body...when Hayden is this quiet and still, he's very sick...it's quite odd...so we decided to take him to the ER...our first ER visit ever!!! Mom stayed here with Case and Jim and I took Hayden...we were quite relaxed and Hayden was great!! The Dr knew right away when looking at his rash that is was Scarlatina rash associated with Strep throat...bless his little heart!!!!!

He is feeling much better and is kinda sassy today...so almost back to normal...just pray that poor little Case won't get it!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Book review...

If you're a stay-at-home momma and have ever had one once of thought about maybe working from home...this is the book for you to read!
I volunteered to be on the "MOPS Blog Tour Review". This is the first book of the tour.
Mary M. Byers gives you informational points of EVERYTHING you have forgot to consider while working from home. Her main question for the book is "why am I working?" Is it to contribute to your family's income or is it just something fun to do other than clean up juice and snack crumbs all day!! :) I know, myself, have thought about working from home when both of our boys are in school all day...and this book has definitely raised some questions for me to ponder until moving forward "by the seat of my pants".
Areas from guilt, motivation, child care in your home during your work hours, recipes for quick and easy dinners, to being in sync with your spouse about you working from home.
One of my favorite things about "Making Work at Home Work" is the work-at-home mom profiles of real women, what their business is, what have been their ups and downs of in home businesses and any advice they might have for other mom's contemplating the idea of working from home.
One part of the book, "relying on faith to get you through", really hit home for me as a mom...she writes "God alone knows what types of insecurities and worries you and I wrestle with. That's why it is so freeing to invite him into partnership."

Reading this book will give the push you need to get started and give you the understanding that all mom's go through basically the same struggles as you don daily on working from home!!

Enjoy...

pictures galore...

Yesterday we went to "piss-bird"...Hayden pronounces Pittsburg this way...I know I know...I have worked with him numerous times about pronouncing it the right way, he just won't do it...anywho...he had a 2week checkup on his ears...good news...everything looks FANTASTIC!!! After the appt we headed over to the park across the street from the dr office...it was such a great day out I couldn't refuse to take them...I'm not much of a "park" person usually!!

No, it's not your eyes playing a trick on you...those are the blue rubber boots again...looks good with the shorts right?!?! You have to pick your battles around here!!!

I felt like a had to take some pictures at school yesterday morning when I dropped Hayden off...Friday is his last day of school...I CAN'T BELIEVE OUR BABY IS GOING TO KINDERGARTEN NEXT YEAR...he loves school and I hope and pray that this feeling never leaves him...

This was on Monday at our public library...Hayden's class took a field trip there...Case and I tagged along...

Can you imaging riding in a van with 10 5 year olds?? Yikes!!

Aren't they beautiful...it always amazes me that you can plant this itty bitty tiny seed and over time it becomes this...sadly our radishes got a little waterlogged this year with all the rain, so we harvested smaller ones!! Oh well, I still am proud of Jim and his garden...he loves it, and I love watching him in it!!

I swear, you NEVER know what kind of outfit you'll see the boys in while driving by or stopping by our house...here we have pajama pants with a play shirt with sandals that are still a little too big and a beaded necklace on a piece of ribbon...you know, the perfect outfit for using the old time way of tilling the garden or Hayden thinks he's "mowing" the garden...

Is Case in this tye-dyed shirt every time I take his picture???? Jeez!! Apparently this "play" shirt gets washed everyday and then put right back on as it comes out of the dryer...maybe his momma gets tired of walking upstairs to her child's room to find more play clothes??! I don't know, just a thought!?!?:)

Hayden's dirty little paw...

Yes, Case has something on his nose...don't even get me started on that subject...

This is Hayden...I got a picture of Case doing this a couple weeks ago and loved it...

This is Case, he is shy and quiet most of the time...unless your eating a Mexican place and there's music in the background that just moves you...enjoy...
