Stop,drop,and roll...

On Monday Hayden's class had a field trip that I helped out with...we went to the Fire Station!! I really enjoyed it and enjoyed watching the boys interact with the other kids...Case got to join right in like he was in school too!!

In this picture, the truck was sounding the horn and siren...

In this exercise, the kids had to play like they were sleeping and when the fire alarm went off, they had to roll out of bed under the blankets of smoke (black draped material) and then touch a bedroom door with the back of their hands and then yell for help before the climbed out the window...Case and Hayden both did this very well...I was a proud momma!!!

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted anything...I have been busy and sick...again!!!

For the last couple months I have been working on the LCC Auction for Scholarships committee...so Friday I spent the day decorating for the event on Saturday along with a ton of other people...before being on the committee I knew nothing about this event, but after Jim and I attended we really were impressed and had a great time...they raise a lot of scholarship $$ each year with this event!!

Our theme was "There's No Place Like Labette"...here's the tornado
remember the shoes I spray painted and glittered...they were the centerpieces...

Me and my good friend Andrea standing under the balloon arch I built...until Friday, I had no idea how to do this!! It's not looking so good in this pic...it was the end of the night and some of the balloons were on their last leg...

Case finally wanting to ride the bike and not just push it around!!

This was taken last week at the auction place we go to...you can't see it, but he's eating a bag of chips watching people!! Nice underwear...this is odd, because he seriously does not wear any 95% of the time!! No kiddin'.

Last Monday I had 5 kids to watch...believe it or not they were very good the whole day and it was pretty easy...I had no idea our pick-up could hold that many car seats!!!!!

Family entertainment...

While at my mom's over the weekend, I took a few pictures of some "funny" stuff that we did or saw...I told mom I should label this post "white trash weekend"!!

I love this picture of mom and Case and the dog...he loves dogs and so desperately wants an indoor dog and already has a name picked out "little puppy"...sorry honey, maybe when you get your own house.

Grandma was showing the boys a "snake" hole...she put a piece of black rubber down there and scared the crap out of Hayden!! It was hilarious!!

This is so funny, and so true...this is down the road from mom's house on a bridge at the creek...the cord you are seeing is mom's phone line...yes, and the phone repairman has "fixed" her phone line by hanging it up on this prehistoric pole that has a splintered end...people, I am not joking about this...her phone always goes out when it rains and she had called to get it looked at and the guy came back and told her that her phone line had washed down the creek!!!!!!!

This is the line on down a little further...nothing like a good ol' tree limb to fix technology!! Seriously, how much money does this guy make, I could totally do his job!!!

Since it's soooooooooooooo far down to the creek from mom's house (maybe a 1/4 mile...but I had my clogs on!!!), mom suggested we ride the mower down the road...I got on it too, but opted not to show that awful picture!! LikeI said- white trash weekend!! Geez grandma, don't break your hip getting on that "thang"!!

And mom doesn't know I took this picture...while she was firing up our transportation I got this shot of her mailbox...look at what her mailman did so her mailbox would stay put!! Nothing like a little tape to fix er' up!!

Then the boys entertained themselves by playing on "the mountain"...gravel rock pile down the road...they climb up the tall thing and then slide down it!!!! They say it doesn't hurt, but it looks painful!!!

2nd Time Around Tuesday...

Well, it's my favorite post of the week again...2nd Time Around Tuesday...showing off a treasure that has been passed down to you from a flea market, garage sale, auction, a family member,etc.

I am thrilled to show my TREASURE that I have been "eyeing "for years at my mom's house...I think that every time that I've been at mom's I've asked if I could have this, of course the answer was always "NO"...but, I was there over the weekend and she actually asked me if I'd like to borrow it...but only if I helped her with her enclosed front porch-decor-moving some furniture...YES I WILL...did you even have to ask!!!??? Now let me ask you this, when your mother says you can borrow something, that usually means you can have it, right?!?! I thought so too...good...

Here it is...my(mom's) little boy picture with the flag...I love the colors, the subject and the overall size of the picture!! Love it, love it, love it!! I believe mom had bought this from an older lady's estate sale...

The only problem I have now is finding the absolute perfect place to hang my treasure...usually it only takes a few minutes for me to pick out a place and hang something...not this time...I love it so much that I'm making it harder than it is...oh well, I'm content to look at it leaning up against the furniture...thanks mom, you have really made me happy with this picture, and thanks for letting me borrow it for life!!! :) Love you.

get {REAL}...

Laura over at Elephant Juice has another question for us...what do you have on your bed!?
I love comforters and if I could, I would buy a different one every few months...I just can't help it...they have so many beautiful fabrics and colors...

Right now I have our plain jane checked comforter on...as the other one is at the cleaners right now...I hate trying to jam the king size comforter in the washer and dryer!! I like to add the color to our room with our throw pillows...what do you have on your bed?

Wordless Wednesday...

Here's Hayden in my brothers boots when they visited last month...funny huh...oh yeah, he's wearing Buck's hat too...we were afraid to have Case try them on...didn't want to do any damage to body parts on the poor little guy!! Come to think of it, Hayden looks like he's in a little bit of pain by the look on his face?!?!

2nd Time Around Tuesday...

Well, it's that time of the week again where you can show your 2nd hand find from your treasure hunting...go here to see many more finds from other people...
Mine this week is from an auction Jim and I went to last year her in our small little town...we picked up quite a bit that day, but I really wanted this item...and of course it was on the last trailer and was well worth the wait in my book!!
It was chocked full of rusty nails, screws, and what-nots from their garage...it weighed about a ton and was covered in nasty oil and grime...bought for $8 and had a big smile on my face...Jim took it to the car wash for me and cleaned it up using the power hose getting all that junk off!! It's been sitting on my coffee table ever since!!! I love auctions!!!

Hello...I'm baaaccckkk...

Hello...Hope everyone had a great Easter!! We did!!

Sorry it's been a while since the last post...I felt like I was knocking on heaven's door there for a couple days...I've been sick with the flu, food poisoning, ??...whatever it was that I had, I don't wish upon anyone!! Wednesday night I started feeling weak and faint...and it only got worse...take my word for it...Sunday was the first day I actually felt like my old self again, and I do mean old!! :)

Here are a bunch of pictures from our Easter...
We got to church yesterday at 7:30am for Sunrise Service, breakfast, Sunday school, the regular service and then the egg hunt...the boys were getting a little cranky by the time the regular service rolled around...

Hayden finding an egg...or 20...they were only supposed to find 10 each...!!

Notice Case looking a little "worn"...he did have his cute sweater on with his shirt tucked in and pant legs over his boots, with OUT green marker on his forehead(don't know what they did in Sunday school?)
