Preparing for the visit from the "big guy"...
We had an absolute wonderful Christmas this year!!! Here at our house we always celebrate Santa's visit one week before the 25th...we're never at home on that day...the boys prepared Santa's note, left reindeer food out in the front yard (thanks to our friend Jenn for helping the boys with making this tasty treat for the reindeer), leaving him plenty of healthy snacks consisting of oreo's, fruit snacks and of course water!! Off to bed they went full of whispers, giggles and listening very hard for any sort of sound Santa and the reindeer might make...I want to add also that this Christmas, the boys were at an age where they really are thrilled to the bones about the season and all the wonderful feelings that go with it...anyway, they did really well about staying upstairs and falling asleep...the next morning, they were all smiles and ready to see what the red dressed man had left them...satisfied with all the wonderful gifts, it was a happy morning for all four of us!! Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season filled with lasting memories!!!

Raccoon snow angels...
Well, we finally had some snow at our house...the boys were elated...and it didn't take long for them to start begging to go out and make snow angels...so I bundled them up and we headed out for about 15 minutes of snow play... then it was time for some hot chocolate...they do love snow!! Isn't it funny how wonderful the very thought of snow was when you were young, and now as adults we cringe at the thought of snow and having to drive in it...
Friends of mine...
Hello to all...it's been a few days since I've blogged...sorry, a lot going on around here! I have been trying to finish the last minute Christmas "To Do" lists, etc...
We had our MOPS Steering Team Christmas party this week...it was great to see all my friends...I just had to share this picture of myself with three other wonderful girls that I feel honored to call my good friends!!! Seated from left to right are: Andrea, Amy L., me, and Jenn. I will do my best to try and get pictures of all the rest of the wonderful ladies and friends that are on the Steering Team!!
Note to GG and Jessica...yes, those are my velour pants...I promise not to wear them to pick Jenni up from the airport...can't wait to see the new "travel" outfit!!!

Video clips for Santa...
This is my first go at trying to get a video clip from the phone to the computer...
I tried to get the boys to respond in a timely manner...having only 15seconds to record...if you can't understand what they're saying, please ask...
Enjoy...
Dear Santa...
Last Saturday we had the chance to see Santa...he must have had a few free minutes in between making toys...he was visiting our local Walgreen's!! The boy's have been talking about wanting to tell Santa what they'd like for Christmas, so I thought this would be a grand time to do so...
Well, maybe not so much...
As soon as we entered the store, both of them changed their minds quickly and kept saying..."maybe next time we can sit on his lap"...nope, how bout' today little coons, and you might want to mention you've been HORRIBLE for the last couple weeks...I mean so HORRIBLE that they don't receive any gifts from Santa and that they probably owe him gifts instead!!!
Well, Hayden decided it would be a good time to let him know he wants a Semi (that's semi-truck for all you non-truckers out there...breaker breaker one nine, come in, got a copy, ten four, what's your handle...sorry I got caught up in trucker talk there for a moment...what would my "handle" be if I were a trucker? Any idea's...I've always wanted a nickname...I'm always asking Jim to think up one for me...SORRY....back to the boys and Santa...) Anywho...Hayden did sit on his lap and told him about the semi and then he had a question for dear ol'Santa..."Do you live at the North Pole?" He got his answer and was happy with the whole experience...leaving with a candy cane and coloring book from Santa.
Now, for the ones who know Case, do you think he sat on Santa's lap??? You're right, he didn't even want a picture with him...he agreed to stand by Hayden while holding my hand for a fast pic...looks frightened doesn't he???!!! Oh, and please don't let me forget to mention that dear ol'Santa graciously offered to let me sit on his other knee while holding Case...thanks, but no...
No words were exchanged between Santa and Case...but Case did mention to us when we were driving out of the parking lot that maybe next time he'd sit on his lap...sure...okay...whatever...not gonna happen....

Scroll down and on the right side I have some new music for your listening pleasure while reading my blog...just click on the song you want to hear...enjoy...
Preschool program...
Sunday afternoon Hayden had his school program...it was fantastic!! They sang the cutest Christmas songs, played instruments, and jingled bells!! Then we had cookies...the boys' favorite part! Granny Pam, Grandma Berba, and Grandma Carol came over for the big event. It's hard to imagine Case up there on the stage next year...I asked him if he was excited that he would be able to get up there when he's in school...his response..."I don't need the words (to the songs), and maybe when I get like Hayna then I'll get up there"...anybody want to go ahead and wager that Case won't even get on the stage?!?!?
Don't they look like little gentlemen...thanks for sweaters aunt GG!!

N'more S'mores please...
Today we did a little craft project...I think I bought them last year at a garage sale for 10 cents each...I saved them to make around Christmas time because I thought I had remembered them being little S'mores ornaments...WRONG...they're S'more turkeys!! Oh well, people associate turkey with Christmas too, right?!?! I caught Case trying to eat the Elmer's glue numerous times...he's not much of a "crafter"...Hayden on the other hand, really gets in to it!! We had fun...I helped with the pipe cleaners, but let the boys do what they wanted with the rest of the turkeys...wow...lots of glue was used...and I think it's safe to say, I will never see any turkeys like what I saw today!!! Case even glued the Popsicle stick he was using to apply glue with to his turkey?!?!

Thanksgiving at aunt Marsha's and uncle Gick's...
We had a fantastic Thanksgiving!!
We arrived at Marsha's around 10:30am and Case didn't waste anytime helping in the kitchen...Hayden soon followed...they helped Blair season the sweet potatoes and make a dressing for the mushrooms...I guess watching food network with the boys does eventually pay off...
We had so much wonderful food, there was nothing that didn't taste delicious...we were soon stuffed to the gills...so all the women and my boys took a short walk...it was freezing...we had to borrow hats for the boys (chicken hat and hunters orange stocking hat). We had tons of laughs and enjoyed each others company...Cory helped the boys make homemade snowflakes, which they are still trying to make today...
I think we all pretty much headed for bed around 8:30pm...we knew morning would come early...BLACK FRIDAY HERE WE COME... I was up looking at my cell phone to check out the time at 2:47am...so, I stayed up and started preparing for the shopping trip...if I remember correct, we were all ready by 4:00 or so...Marsha accidentally set her alarm an hour earlier than we had planned!!! Oh well...we headed to Topeka to pick up Jetta and Blair...it was great...we went to the mail then to Paxico, Ks for some antiquing!!! As you can tell by the sleeping pics of the boys...we were exhausted!!
On Saturday the boys and I left to go back home, but not before they had some fun time in the kitchen sink...they never get to do this at home, so every second of this was enjoyed....
Thanks aunt Marsha and uncle Gick...we love coming to your house and we always feel so welcome and at home!!!
love you!!
