The surgery went very very well this morning!! Left the house at 6:40am!! A little early for the boys, but they were so good on the ride over...Hayden never even mentioned the part about not being able to eat or drink anything!! He never acted nervous...he was his normal loud, very active, sassy self!! The waiting room was packed full of other children waiting to have the same thing done...
I love this sweet little ear and especially the faint little freckle on it...On the ride over to Pittsburg...
Oh my...straight off the runway from Paris...this lovely one piece unit complete with booties and hat...Jim had thought about going back with Hayden, but when he realized we had to wear this he declined...thanks honey...I told him if Case ever has to have this done he would be the one wearing the one piece unit...
as you can see it was size 40XL...it was about 3 feet too wide and 3 feet too long...If I was feeling a little frumpy while getting ready this morning, how do you think I felt now???? All Hayden had to do was put a hospital shirt on...I had him wear comfy pants, but he insisted on wearing his blue rubber boots...I really was not going to fight him on what shoes he was going to wear the day of his surgery...little did I know, he never had to take the stinkin' boots off the whole procedure...it was very funny seeing him lying on the operating table with two big somewhat dirty rubber boots sticking out from under the blanket!!! Nice!!
After we took this picture he told me he was making a funny face, and so he was!!!!
And of course, just like any other place we go, the boys have to flirt around with the nurse...and Case was nowhere to be found until the word "icee" was said...then he was Mr.Talkative and had to make known that his favorite color icee was blue!!!
(notice the boots on Hayden)
I don't have any pictures of the rest of the morning...
I got to go back when they put him to sleep in the OR...he was counting and didn't quite make it to 15 when he turned in to a limp noodle!! It then took literally 5 minutes for the whole procedure. He then had to go to the recovery area for 30 minutes...this was where he received a icee while lying in bed watching cartoons and sipping juice...jeezz...who wouldn't want to do this!!! He was very wiggly and a little emotional...he was fine and then looked at me and said "did I get tubes in my ears?"...I said "yes"...and he immediately started crying and then stopped suddenly...okay...
Jim and I just knew that the 45 minute ride home would be peaceful and quiet...yeah, right...maybe in the car behind us!!! Hayden did complain that the car was too loud...that was a good sign!!! He was loud, crazy, singing, and very active...so in other words..."normal"!!! Which is good...
The boys and I had lunch up at the corner cafe when daddy went back to work...Case was being silly wrapping up his truck in a napkin...
